Santa María del Mar is the biggest of the beaches of
Havana Eastern Beaches. The beach has, seven kilometers (4.3 miles) lon and.
posses warm waters for bathing and fine, soft sand for taking in the sun afterwards.
Beneath the waters of this beach can be found many different kinds of coral and other marines species.
Villa Los Pinos is a complex of 20+ mostly two-story masonry houses all in good condition with gardens. On the ground floor they have a living room, dining area, kitchen and guest bathroom. Upstairs they have from two to four bedrooms some with bathrooms en suite and some shared. The bedrooms have air conditioning. The furnishings are in quite good taste, mostly rattan, and the kitchens have pots, pans and utensils. The houses are kept quite clean and there is ample space between them. They begin at the edge of the beach and continue back for three blocks. None is more than a minute or two walk from the beach.
All in all this is a very nice, non-pretentious, well-kept area that we think is perfect for a family reunion. It is close enough for visits to Havana
